Apparently after a teenage girl from Quebec killed herself due to bullying, people are outraged at how bullying is being handled and want more done. Someone even introduced a bill that would make bullying an offense punishable by expulsion. ca.news.yahoo.com/quebec-teen-tormented-school-commits-suicide-190903490.htmlPersonally, I say expell the little fuckers. If they're so happy about getting a five day suspension after bullying, then obviously it's not working and something more extreme has to be done to get the message across to the little shits.

So long as it's not a zero-tolerance policy, I'm for it.
Although I did think of an even crueler punishment: drop them to a lower grade.

Kids who bully should be treated the same way as anyone who is convicted of harassment (for verbal or psychological bullying) or assault (if physical).

If that was the case, I'd bully just to get more free education... (Okay that was not wholly serious) I like that there's stuff being done; I've only actually seen bullying once, so I guess I'm lucky in that respect. I just wish that there'd be action taken BEFORE blood is shed.

How many bullies do you think, are genuinely unaware that they are bullies?

Young children probably don't, but I'm sure most teens do.

Bullying = Expulsion? And nothing of value was lost.

How many bullies do you think, are genuinely unaware that they are bullies? That doesn't matter. What does matter is that they are hurting their victims. A bully who does not realize this is probably suffering from some mental illness.

There's this neat concept called talking to a child and constantly coaching them on what a bully is and does as they grow up.

It's called "raising a child." As a parent you are familiar with the concept of teaching a child the difference between right and wrong.

I think you've lost any type of sympathy you got from your stroke dude. Seriously common sense on the part of the parent should prevent bullying. At least it should. Ironbite-if it doesn't, something's wrong.
