Following demonstrations earlier this year which drew up to 100,000 people to the Wisconsin Capitol, Republican Gov. Scott Walker has proposed new policies that would require future protesters to pay in advance to stage an event, at a cost of $50 per hour, per Capitol Police officer.

Police may also require a liability insurance or a bond, according to The Milwaukee Journal Sentinal.

Demonstrators will also be on the hook for any damage and cleanup following protests. Walker’s administration had claimed that the pro-union protests earlier this year had costs as much as $7.5 million, but later admitted that the actual costs were far less

That isn't class privilege or a gross violation of the 1st Amendment at all.

How long does the recall process take? I remember hearing months ago that they were trying to recall him and I am confused as to why it has not happened yet.

The recall process takes awhile. It'll probably be 2012 before we can give him the boot.

Not to mention the fact that Scott Walker's staff filed the recall papers extremely early so that the people recalling him were underprepared, so now it's kind of a scramble.

As if that amount of dirty play wasn't enough, several Republicans are actually having people sign the petition, then throwing out the signatures. Thankfully, the police are cracking down on them.
