Funny thing: Australia helped Indonesia gain independence, helped it win it's (comparatively easy) independence struggle. And then turned around and stopped East Timor and West Papua from winning theirs (oh, and we toppled the Indonesian government. Minor details).

The Dutch government are something of an oddity: A few years ago when a report showed that Dutch peacekeepers had done nothing to stop the genocide in Rwanda, the whole government resigned by way of apology. Can you see that happening anywhere else in the world?

Can you see that happening anywhere else in the world? Weird. Fat lot of good it did for the Tutsis, but it's something. Also, wasn't it the Belgians who failed to do anything?

Can you see that happening anywhere else in the world? It was the massacre at Srebrenica actually. The peacekeepers called for an airstrike, the gov't wouldn't allow it. And they resigned for like a day.
