What... the... FUCK?!
I say, we evacuate all the innocent people in Saudi Arabia, the ones who disagreed with this, and BOMB THE PLACE TO ASHES!

>:/ The less-sad-than-a-woman-being-unjustly-executed-but-still-quite-sad part about this is, the fundies in America will condemn this with one side of their mouth, and wish they could do it in the name of THEIR god with the other side of their mouth. That being said, whoever was involved in this execution needs to have their asses repeatedly kicked for about 20 years Preferably with steel-toed boots that have spikes at the end.

I heard about this the other day. It didn't surprise me then. It doesn't surprise me now.
And that's actually what bothers me most about the whole thing--that it doesn't bother me at all.
Not that I'm indifferent to the unjust treatment of women by a completely backward government, but that their unjust treatment of women just doesn't faze me anymore. I've been completely desensitized.

I've been completely desensitized. You're not the only one. It's pretty much impossible for me to be visibly outraged by anything fundies do anymore. Horrific behavior is expected of them. I'd be more shocked if they (whether Muslims in Saudi Arabia or Christians in America) did anything at all in conformence with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Even Hanlon's razor has completely broken down by this point.

Although, ironically, Arabian paganism was even more sexist than Islam. But I'm not sure if it was much more sexist than the people running Saudi Arabia...

You're free to join the rest of us in the 21st century, Saudi Arabia. When were the Salem witch trials? The 1600s? Joining the 18th century would be progress for them.

Well, come on, you guys, it's just a woman. A brown woman. It's not like they're killing virile white men.

I've been completely desensitized. I hear ya. Sometimes I'll get to a point where I have trouble reacting to this kind of thing. Then I start thinking about what must have been going through the poor girl's mind, the terror she must have felt, how she probably begged for her life and hoped right up to the last second that someone, anyone, would save her, and the horror and outrage flames up again. The shock never comes back, though. Which is fucked up.

Why are we still supporting this regime? Why are my tax dollars being spent to maintain our military presense in this country? Why are my fellow Canadians being used as a human sheild to protect the house of Al Saud from being overthrown?

Oh come on D. Laurier, that should be obvious. It happens to be a certain word, three letters long, which could refer to any of several organic compounds but in this case refers to hydrocarbons in their liquid form, and rhymes with "boil"...
Still, thank you for pointing out that all of the West is responsible for Saudi Arabia's existence, not just one country. I personally would like to see Mr. Saud (why should I respect his "authority" as a king?) and all his relatives torn limb-from limb by an angry populace, but of course that'll never happen. They completely breezed through 2011 without the Arab Spring even touching them.
