LinkI've heard it some tradition that Jews go to Chinese restaurants around this time, but I've never understood that.

Well, it's not often that Not Always Right gets an entry involving religion. That could be cutting close the revival rule.

I enjoy Chinese/German food. The only problem is, an hour after you've eaten you're hungry for power.

This answer brings to mind that scene near the end of A Christmas Story. The pack of dogs from the Bumpass Family, next door, trashed Ralphie's Family's Christmas turkey....So the family got dressed & went to the only open restaurant, a Chinese one for "Chinese Turkey" (Peking Duck) & botched "Chinglish" Christmas Carols.
