www.courant.com/news/local/hc-web-turner-arrestjun04,0,7073648.story Exactly as it says. From the looks of it, he was calling for violence and the death of several people, and one of his recent shows even went over what Tiller's alleged murderer did wrong to get caught. Everyone brace for the shitstorm ahead.

Well...fuck. So he was talking too much shit and got arrested? Well, he has been acting pretty nutty, so I can't say it wasn't likely.

Maybe if we are lucky the fundies will take this as a sign that the end is here and do something hilarious that removes them from the gene pool.

Hal Turner has been openly calling for violence - both against specific individusls and against government institutions - on his show for years. It's long past time he should face legal consequences for not only condoning but counseling terrorism, and for describing on-air how to go about it. He's no better than the Mullahs that, ironically, the members of his own audience fear so much. As unlikely as it may seem, the people over at Encyclopedia Dramatica have done a pretty thorough job of uncovering and documenting Turner's batshit insanity.

But wasn't Hal Turner an FBI informant as well?

But wasn't Hal Turner an FBI informant as well? It would seem so, which goes a ways toward explaining why he wasn't arrested a dozen years ago. But - and here's the rub - it seems that Turner must believe the shit he spews, or else he would have ended his hate-fest after being outed as a stooge. That is one strange, disturbed little man.

Interesting. What he said would get a conviction in many countries but I think he'll probably get off in a US court. ETA: Just to quote what the warrant was for: That's fairly specific. Any lawyers know if it's enough? ETA 2: www.adl.org/main_Extremism/turner_own_words.htm

Do people think this is the start of a crackdown on domestic terrorism or coincidence?

Do people think this is the start of a crackdown on domestic terrorism or coincidence? Hoping for the former, betting on the latter.

Interesting. What he said would get a conviction in many countries but I think he'll probably get off in a US court. I don't know, US courts have never considered shit like Turner's been pulling a form of protected speech. While I'll be the first to defend American free speech laws, I'm also the first to agree that stuff like that crosses the line. He's posted people's addresses on the internet and told his followers to murder them. That's not legal, and it never has been.
