I don't know, US courts have never considered shit like Turner's been pulling a form of protected speech. While I'll be the first to defend American free speech laws, I'm also the first to agree that stuff like that crosses the line. He's posted people's addresses on the internet and told his followers to murder them. That's not legal, and it never has been. Americans courts have been reticent to do much that overtly protects abortion rights, though. Same with American law enforcement in general. I'm not saying that they will stand for it, but I'd feel a little more comfortable if we hadn't seen such a blind eye turned to the subject over the last decade or two.

True, I didn't know the FACE act existed because it hasn't been enforced. Rachel Maddow just had a great piece on this. Roeder should have already been in prison and Tiller might be alive. scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2009/06/dereliction_of_duty.php

"Obey the Constitution or die"
I'm willing to bet this man has never even read the Constitution.

"Obey the Constitution or die" I'm willing to bet this man has never even read the Constitution. Of course not; there's all these fancy, elitist words and no pictures.

He probably has read it, but wingnuts tend to have terrible reading comprehension, like functional illiteracy level.

As unlikely as it may seem, the people over at Encyclopedia Dramatica have done a pretty thorough job of uncovering and documenting Turner's batshit insanity. The court filing is pure comedy gold. There's hypocrisy (he's complaining about them posting his phone number when he did exactly the same), there's ignorance of the Constitution (no, the First Amendment does not work that way) and there's a claim that something happened in December 2007 when it was filed in January 2007.

I remembered reading about the FACE act before Maddow, but as it was poorly explained (either deliberately downplayed or just not properly understood), I was rather shocked to find out what it actually did. And wondered why the fuck it had never been brought up in such instances before. Either nobody was aware or people just didn't want to. Speaking of people want knowing, I think it's scary that there are so few options for a late term abortion, given the existing laws against them barring the health of the mother being in jeopardy. I hate the "save the babies even if you kill the mother" mentality.

One of the guys in my town is so paranoid, he refuses to give out his address, and even signs in to the library computers with a false name. He, however, challenges liberals to do things that would identify them...For example, the aforementioned pro-choice stance (to see how brave we are when they know where to find us) and if we don't have guns (again, to see how brave we are). I wish I could fake surprise to this, but it happens often enough....

"Obey the Constitution or die" I'm willing to bet this man has never even read the Constitution. He probably read Leviticus and thought it was the constitution. It's a surprisingly common mistake. I don't get it myself. For one thing, Leviticus is much longer, so that's a dead give away.
