I was thinking -- I know, dangerous, innit? -- and I've come to the conclusion that we could use a separate section of the boards for, like, a mental illness (or other issues) support group(s).
I honestly think we could all benefit from a section where we know we can get support for our various problems, from grief to illness to mental health; a -safe- space.
What do you all think?

I think no. FSTDT is not a support group, and it was never intended to be one. At its heart, FSTDT is a community to mock fundie-ish behaviour, or, more broadly, to mock stupidity. It is an open place, where basically anything can be talked about. Make separate board/s just for those with 'issues' isn't encouraging speech and intermingling; instead, it's a level of separation which could easily degenerate into an us v. them mentality.
If I really need support in my depression, my Auspergers, my female to genderqueer transition, or my polyamourus lifestyle, I can either make a thread about it here, or go to another board/community specifically set up for that. (And yes, I happen to know of communities for each of those variances.) My first impulse is to bring it up here, honestly.
Anyway, my point is, this community was never meant to be a support community, so why should we try to add support boards?
