To be fair, Eggman's VA from Sonic Adventure died a couple years back, and his Sonic X VA was both pretty damned decent, and instantly recognizable by kids as Eggman. The aspect of the Unleashed cinema scenes I couldn't stand was Chip. It's like they picked some random lady off the street and said, "You're going to be a voice actor for an overly-excitable tutorial character in a video game. Here are your lines. You have 3 hours." The same goes for Rouge from Sonic Adventure 2. When I went back through to get all the emblems, I changed the voice setting to Japanese. At least her Japanese VA was tolerable. I honestly haven't played any of the games since SA2:B, so there goes any credibility I may have...I DID, however, have the misfortune of watching a whopping 30 minutes of some nerds playing Unleashed. Goddamn. I'd rather have Omochao back than Chip. I understand the Eggman thing, but to replace Ryan and David with the SonicX jackoffs? Gawds. TRUST ME, SEGA, Sonic's annoying enough with a DECENT voice actor. Fucking Gary Stu... ...aaaand wait, wait wait wait. Chip's VA was a woman? Usually, high-pitched "male" voices are done by woman. So I'm making an assumption, but it's a reasonable one.

I think most dubs are disgusting pieces of filth that destroy my ears...but that's just me.
Most dubs I've come across make me want to puke. The main male and/or female characters usually sound so off that it makes me cry.
I've recently started watching the Saikano anime. I watched the English Sub's first episode and clicked the link for the next. It was, unfortunately, the English Dub version. The moment I heard the voices I was literally bug eyed and was hissing "Fucking shit! Changeitchangeitchangeit!!!!"
I'm not even joking.
In most cases, the Japanese characters sound better with the Japanese voice actors. There are very few animes that have ever gotten my "voice acting seal of approval".

With boys, their voices tend to erratically crackle and fade out once they hit puberty, after which they pick up a permanent bass. That typically leaves a recording studio with only a few months at best to get something in the can before whoever they cast is no longer suitable for their role. As a result, when a cartoon needs to cast a young boy, unless the dubbing process is going to be relatively short (such as an individual movie) they'll simply tap an adult female VA for the role; their voice sounds close enough to a boy's voice once the recording makes its way through the actual recording / dubbing process that the average person can't tell the difference. To my knowledge, the Peanuts cartoon series from the late 1970s and early 1980s is the only major animated project that routinely used actual children for all the voice roles. This did indeed result in them having to replace a number of VAs each season - male and female - once puberty hit and their voices changed too much for them to fit into their roles.

To answer the OP(yeah, remember that thing?) I will always watch a movie or show in its original language. It's just how I do things.
