More and more I find myself getting annoyed by this lack of English skills on my part, and a recent quote reminded me of it again. So I'm turning to you to please help me choose. What's a good casual word to call your slave beloved husband online, in the style of gf/bf? Example phrases: "___ is happily using Vista on his desktop, it can't be all bad." "___'s birthday is coming up, any suggestions on what to get him?" "___ has been trying to get me to read that book for months." I rather like "DH"; it's a two-letter word, but people often seem to either get annoyed by it, or not understand it. "Partner" is also ok, if a bit long and formal, and it has a ring of political correctness that I dislike.

I often call mine "the boy," when not calling him by name. For me, it sounds a bit more playful and happy (for lack of a better description) than, "my boyfriend."

I would say "LABIKIMB"
That would be "Little Asian Boy I Keep In My Basement." Of course this answer is pretty much useless anyway seeing as though I don't allow him internet access.

Hubby and SO are two I've seen a lot.

*Gender appropriate honorific*+ " " + Screen name or shortened form of screen name. Mr MiriamM, sort of thing.

All of those are really fine, IMO. When referring to my spouse, I'll say "my wife" or "Mrs. L." If you don't feel uncomfortable using his name, use that, or if he has a screen name, you can use that.

in conversation with friends I often refer to my husband as "Himself". Online I generally say "my husband" - it had never occurred to me to use anything else.
It took me a while to work out what SO or DH meant, but somehow these are not terms I would feel comfortable using.

I would say "hubsworth", but then again I'm a bit odd. I think "hubby" is the most common one I've heard, and I prefer it to the acronyms, DH, SO, BF, BS or whatever all seem a tad distant to me.

Steve. Especially if his name is not Steve. Hubby seems to work good enough, if you want suggestions that make sense.

If I had a husband, I would call him "The Lazy Guy" to show that he's my husband. Nah, just kidding. I'd probably call him "my husband" or his name.

Me an' my online partner call ourselves "cuddlebuddies", because just by being us we buck any sort of sense of a conventional relationship. =3

I vote for this one. My idea would be using the affectionate title that you use with him IRL. You know, "honeybuns", "dearie", "bed master", something like that.

Damn, that fits my husband to a tee. Not so much that I keep him down there, that's just where his hole is. I use hubby, I guess because most of the people I see using DH, DD, etc seem batshit insane.

Ha, I'm the only one who voted "partner". I'm so boring.
