I've had a few questions as to why I didn't just write the site in PHP from time to time and I've found a good way of explaining it in a recent article I found wandering the codeproject forums. misfitgeek.com/blog/aspnet/php-versus-asp-net-ndash-windows-versus-linux-ndash-who-rsquo-s-the-fastest/Being the article, but specificly: www.misfitgeek.com/pages/Perf_Stat_0809.htmThose times are in seconds, blue is good, 25-30x worse than blue is bad. But for the non-technical, in most categories the configuration that the site runs off of blows the doors off a generally free solution which I could have gone with. The money I pay in hosting and paid for the development tools is entirely worth the speed of the site now, which was mostly hindered by my own bad habits I'm finally breaking. Frankly, I'm considering shelling out nearly a grand to get a set of more recent tools for development because I've been consistently impressed by their functionality while using them at work. From what I've managed with them at work, it's worth it, entirely. Edit: That said, due to a basic difference in the languages this should be rather obvious to most coders, however I still get the question.

Cool. Maybe you could make August a donation drive month to help you foot the bill? I'm flat broke right now but believe me I would be more than glad to contribute if I could.
Thanks for all the effort you put in to make FSTDT awesome!
