My nerves are about as frayed as they're going to get. I feel like a total idiot, but what the hell else is new?
Anyway, long story short, I HATE POWER POINT.
I never, ever use it if I have the choice.
Today is a grim reminder of why.
I can't get this damn presentation to open. When it was e-mailed to me, it was zipped. So I unzipped it. Now everything is either a .xml or .jpg. No .ppts anywhere. Like, none. WTF GOOD IS THIS GOD DAMNED PROGRAM.
Someone help me.
Please.

Perhaps it was corrupted in the zipping. Can you get the person who sent it to you to re-zip and send?
Some email systems hate zip files. Have the person change the *.zip to *.zif or something like that
Are you both using the same version of office? Because the 07 ppt's have a different ending. The person would have to save it special as a 2003 version.
Hope that helps.

I'd say the .zip is really just a renamed .pptx and you need a few updates if you're not running Office 2007: support.microsoft.com/kb/924074Why do I say that? Office 2007's file formats are nothing but a bunch of files stored in a ZIP container.

Weird. The only problem I have with Powerpoint is somehow fitting all of the information I want &/or need to convey on those tiny-ass slides.

God, I remember having to do weekly status reports in EAST Lab using PowerPoint. What the hell is this, a job? You gonna pay me, too?
I don't think there was ever another class that I didn't give a shit about failing.
Personally, I think I'd actually rather use Flash for a presentation than PowerPoint.

Luckily I managed to use my considerable ingenuity to avoid epic disaster, but thanks for your help, guys.
