I just hope she doesn't end up feeling compelled to apologize like Michael Steele (who is getting more embarrassing by the second.) She has nothing to apologize for. She has no direct stake in the GOP party, and McCain Sr. would not be affected much by his daughter's views. What can Rush Limbaugh attack her for? He'll do what he did to Chelsea Clinton and call her a mongrel, and Meghan and John may feel offended personally, but it will not make them look any worse. Besides, being an independent-minded and pragmatic conservative may help if she ever decides to run for office.

*shrugs* I don't think Steele had anything to apologize for, either, but he was told different.

*shrugs* I don't think Steele had anything to apologize for, either, but he was told different. He most certainly didn't. But Meghan is at least in a position where she herself isn't in politics. Steele is in a position where he has to walk around with a very large stick up his ass, and should he speak out of turn, it gets twisted. The worst case for Meghan is she's John McCain's daughter, and I'm not sure they're going to exert that kind of pressure on her simply for that. Even then, I'm not sure she'd necessarily comply, considering how candid she's already being.

Rapture Ready has a great thread going about this: www.rr-bb.com/showthread.php?t=84582"Well, seems that our little dear Megan, daughter of open borders Senator McCain, is out to trash freedom loving conservatives rather than her dad who ignores his oath of office to preserve and protect our Constitution and the intentions and beliefs under which it was adopted.
My little dear, please enlighten us all as to what part of our Constitution’s First Amendment do you and your dad not understand?
Congress shall make no law … abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press …
We really need to hear your feelings about your dads desire to silence political speech under his McCain-Feingold Campaign Reform Act of 2002 more appropriately titled the “Incumbent Protection Act of 2002“.
And, if Senator McCain is really pro life as he claims, then why did he make an attempt to deal a lethal blow to various right-to-life groups who may want to run a TV ad prior to an election giving the voting record of particular candidates with regard to their right to life votes?
Truth is , Sen. McCain is a Washington Establishment team player, interested in preserving the Washington Establishment’s political plum job empire rather than protecting one of our most fundamental rights offered by our Constitution___ freedom of political speech.
Tell us Meghan, what part of “shall make no law” does your dad not understand?
Your dad has also embraced the No Child Left Behind Act as a “good beginning” to use federal force to allegedly improve public school systems established under state Constitutions. But the fact is, there is no provision in the federal Constitution allowing Congress to tax and spend nor regulate State Constitutionally created public school systems.
Tell us dear Meghan, what part of our Constitution’s Tenth Amendment does your dad not understand which is summarizes in Federalist Paper No. 45?"I loved that part in the Bible where Jesus said "Thou shalt snark at thine enemies"...oh, wait... "Heard her on Fox last night, her ideas are that the Republicans need to be more mainstream...ie middle of the road That's why her Dad lost! She's cute as a button, but does not have a clue Ann will get her straight unless her brain cells have been mysteriously sucked out by the libs and RHINO'S, then it's probably too late."Yet more proof that the Raptards are completely delusional... ;D Wait wait wait, did he just say there is no provision allowing congress to tax and spend? Is he talking about our current constitution or the Articles of Confederation? "The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States" Article I, Section 8. I swear, they don't even know the damn constitution.

Yet more proof that the Raptards are completely delusional... ;D or at least that they have blinders on Funny that the OP in that thread uses Meghan's remarks as an opening to attack John's policy....Kind of cruel, imo. Like shaking a finger at a kid asking, "Now since you've been a bad little girl, what do have to say about your father's alcoholism, dearie?" It's a combo fallacy - like a strawman and a non sequitur at the same time.

That should me MAnn Coulter - unless you know of any other women with an Adams Apple. I am so fucking sick of this shit. First, it happens it's not common, but it is possible for a woman to have an Adam's Apple. Well, actually, all people have that cartilage, but it's prominence varies. Second, by saying this you are insinuating that sex changes are something to be ashamed of. I really hope you don't think this is the case. Third, there is so much you can criticize about Coulter legitimately, why make yourself look so damn petty?

I love how Mcain-Feingold is dreadfully oppressive and indicative of their Washington Establishment insider status because money from wealthy donors is speech, but how the secrecy defense that Bush used isn't because writing and talking isn't.

"I lost total respect for her however when she made really snide remarks about Palin & tried to imply that it was b/c of her that her father lost." -4evrHis
Uh, yeah, technically, McCain did lose due to the Alaskan Moose-Hunting Noob. My dad (a Republican) planned to support McCain until he picked Palin. To quote my father, "America is SCREWED if that idiot gets in to power. What was McCain thinking? I respect him, but what the HELL was he thinking?!"
I'm sorry, that just rubbed me the wrong way. I respect McCain even though I supported Obama (couldn't vote though). It's people like this who hate the president and try to blame anything on anyone but their precious Saint Sarah that irritate me. Your candidate's daughter is telling the truth- wake up and listen, numbnuts!
Also, Megan McCain could kick Ann Coulter's scrawny ass into next Tuesday.

I swear, they don't even know the damn constitution. I also liked the part where the Constitution doesn't allow the Feds to regulate the State's public schools. Well, really what NCBA says is that you need to do it to maintain federal funding. While I'm against the provisions of the No Child act, it simply contains provisions for Federal aid. Something I kind of wish they'd do for religious schools, in general, since the idea that they can teach what they want because they're private, but are taking public money, is ridiculous. The "No Right to Tax" Myth seems to be one of the most widely believed myth about the Constitutionalists. Say, is there a "Constitutionalists Say the Darndest Things" site? Kidding, of course, but I'd have some ammo for that one.

Second, by saying this you are insinuating that sex changes are something to be ashamed of. I really hope you don't think this is the case. Third, there is so much you can criticize about Coulter legitimately, why make yourself look so damn petty? Couple of things come to mind: -To Ostravan's original point, Alexis Bledel comes to mind. Rory from Gilmore Girls. She has a fairly prominent one. I've known a few guys with no Adam's Apples, by the way. -Much as I'm not one to cast stones about gender, my first reaction was simply how for Ann, it would be something to be ashamed of. This is a woman who calls people who disagree with her "faggot," Who attacks independent women, and advocates a lot of hate. -The above notwithstanding, it's a tired old joke, now. -While I don't take the lines about Ann as though you should be ashamed of sex changes, it's almost Limbaugh/O-Reilly-esque in terms of gender in general. -Still I think Ostravan was joking. Just tossing in my dime (Inflation drove up my two cents)
