unreasonablefaith.com/2009/08/06/religious-fanatics-invade-nigerian-humanist-conference/Read for yourself, and watch for yourself. Basically the humanists aim to combat abuse and systematic witchcraft, when one of the very churches that commit such atrocities invade the conference and create a ruckus. In what world do people chant "In the name of Jesus" and sing while beating people up? This may be a foreign country to most people, and Christians in the west will be quick to disown them, but they believe in the same thing. Think about what would happen if this happened, instead of in Nigeria, in Montana.

That video was painful to watch. Things like that make me really angry.
These kids who have been killed because they were supposedly "witches" died for no reason. It is the fault of corrupted religion. And then these disgusting people come in and defend their murders because it's part of their religion? That is no excuse.
Every story I hear about these witch-hunters makes me wonder- if someone decided that THEY were the witches, would they still be so keen on purging their supposed "witches"? I don't think so.

Another way these 'wackos' really arent any different from western superstitious fools. Its perfectly fair and just to kill someone for being a witch, just like its perfectly fair for someone to suffer in hell. If you where to ask a witchhunter about being hunted I bet money they'd give you the exact same bullshit answer American christians will give you about being sent to hell: "If it was me I wouldn't be mad, its justice"

Obviously, the humanists were persecuting these poor Christians, & not letting them rid their homes of devil-worshippers.
Or they're obviously Muslims, because they're violent & have dark skin. My Inner Fundie isn't quite sure which excuse he wants to use.

Latter excuse tends to be used more. Though they forget, this is the same system which bred Sarah Palin's old pastor.

Think about what would happen if this happened, instead of in Nigeria, in Montana. Someone would get shot. And rightfully so, it appears. We don't really have much going on here in the way of witch-hunting or any other religiously sanctioned violent event. Probably because the level of firearm ownership here is pretty much the same for sane people and fundies alike.

Well, In North Carolina, kids get tied up and burned unless you have a teacher around who thinks that kind of thing was wrong. I remember Kelian's daughter said "God is imaginary" at school one day and all the good Christian kids were ready to light her on fire.

I'm surprised there haven't been news stories about things like that. That ranks right up there with what the Taliban does.
