(Note: Playing UO requires you to download and install software to your computer.)
OK, first off, some basic info for the uninitiated.
Q:What's UO?
UO stands for Ultima Online, a MMORPG made in 1997 by Origin Systems and currently run by EA.
Q:Aren't free servers illegal?
No, not for UO, at least. Taken directly from Wikipedia:
Q:OK, so they aren't illegal or a breach of the EULA, but how do I connect?
I've already posted instructions on how to do so here. Note that the connection instructions are for connecting to UOGamers: Demise. If you wish to connect to another server, just look at this image:

The red highlighted area is where you input the IP or URL (like login.uodemise.com) for the server, the blue area is for the port (like 8166). After you enter that info, just hit "Okay" and you should be connected, granted you entered the info correctly.
I have a good bit of experience with RunUO (the shard emulator), so I could work with scripting new items and things. I could also run it off my computer, but I couldn't keep it up 24/7.
So, the question is, if it were to happen, would you like to see a FSTDT-based UO shard where we could run around, talk, and beat the crap outta stuff? Least it would be more interesting than IRC.

No, not for UO, at least. Taken directly from Wikipedia:
RunUO software is separate entirely from the Ultima Online client and server software. Even though the Ultima Online client can successfully interact with RunUO, this is not sufficient enough to warrant an EULA violation. RunUO does not directly hamper a person's ability to connect to EA shards. Ultima Online shard emulation is not illegal, contrary to many rumors and misconceptions, as no reverse engineering takes place.
