I have no idea where it would be hiding itself. Found plenty of info about how to get them, but not get rid of them. Also, I think that given the way Unix installs things, you would have needed to give the admin password to install it. Might want need to take it into a store and see if they can find if you one or not.

I highly doubt it's an actual piece of malware. As stated earlier, you'd have to download and then manually install it; stealth keylogging functionality is not trivial to implement under Aqua (the OS X graphical shell), or at least that's my understanding.
Worse comes to worse, back up your documents and wipe 'er clean. Still, it sounds more likely to me that your shit was intercepted on the wire.

I even go so far as to copy paste it from a text document. Couldn't someone gain access to your account if they had a copy of the text document though?

Put up my firewall (apparently it was down), emptied my cache, got rid of all suspicious documents and disabled sharing via the network.
