I really wish I felt sorry for him, it would make me a better human being, but I just don't.

A disgraceful attack, and to be utterly condemned.
Not a stick to beat all BNP opposition with, however.

A disgraceful attack, and to be utterly condemned. Not a stick to beat all BNP opposition with, however. No, but if we all went round battering everyone we disagree with the country would fall apart. I'd much rather the BNP, you know, didn't exist but while this country still has any pretense of maintaining freedom of speech and freedom of assembly for whoever wants to take it, it's something we have to put up with. *freedom of speech is easy to uphold when you agree with what's being said*

Maybe this has to do with me being American, or maybe it's my Autism, but I fail to understand the application of the thread title here...

Thirded, its seems sort of both sarcastic and sadistically serious at the same time.

*freedom of speech is easy to uphold when you agree with what's being said* Mafia dons do not have th freedom to say "hit Sammy". That's murder. And I think that the title of the thread, while obviously snark, is also quite complimentary to liberals everywhere. It's a compliment to say that (perhaps violently if necessary) opposing violent fascists comes naturally to liberals.

It really would help if someone explained what BNP stands for and what provoked the attack.

Fourth'd, I saw the title and thought it was a fundie troll. Me too. In fact, it's why I came in here. I figured it had to be either that or a story of victory, which would be awesome.

It really would help if someone explained what BNP stands for and what provoked the attack. The British National Party is a remake of Oswald Mosely's British fascists. Their most important policies are a total end to immigration, banning of most media including the BBC and the immedate deportation (or just the beating up of) anyone higher than they on the melanain count. It's the party of skinheads, in other words.

No matter what the man's politics or past actions, he does not, I repeat NOT, deserve to be assaulted.
If he has done wrong, then let him be taken in front of the courts to answer for his actions, or inactions, as we do in civilized countries.
...I'm guessing, though, that as a politico he's probably not wanted for murder, but instead is so reviled for espousing stupid, hateful, idiotic ideas.
Well, no matter how much you hate what someone says, or their ideas, you don't get the right to attack them with hammers. You *CAN*, however, use your words like a grown up and speak out against his idiocy.
