The Ex-gay researchers are thinking to small with their unique brand of science, they need to take their proven methods for getting wanted statistics and apply it to other areas. For example, pharmaceutical companies lose millions having to test their products. This is largely because the people they test it on are godless heathens with the audacity to accurately report their experiences. Imagine how much more streamlined the process would be if when you need to prove your new depression pill worked you could just have some doctors from the nearby evangelical college come over, handpick the most successful cases, tell everyone their a horrid sinner who deserves to burn forever if they dont choose to let the drug work and mark down anyone who doesnt commit suicide as a 'success' all while never letting in anyone who doesnt already completely agree that the Depression Drug works perfectly. Imagine how much easier all areas of psychology will be when this tired old method of 'actually caring about the truth' dies and we get a new generation that knows that to really prove your theory you have to rig the tests.

Isn't that pretty much what the drug companies do already?

Isn't that pretty much what the drug companies do already? If you let them, yes, but that's what the FDA is for.

They've managed to inject a certain level of honesty into the process, although they're still criminally underfunded. They do the job quite well considered what they have to work with.
