Some of my favorites, in no particular order:
Tool, vintage Metallica, CCR, Elvis, Bach, the Beatles, Nightwish, Supertramp, Diana Ross, System of a Down, Alanis Morissette, Weird Al, Lemon Demon, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Koji Kondo, NIN, and Mozart.
When I put my MP3 player on "Shuffle All," it sounds schizophrenic.

A sampling of artists on my list: AC/DC (duh) Avenged Sevenfold Beck Billy Joel Black Sabbath/Ozzy Canned Heat (REALLY old shit!) Brian Setzer Orchestra Deep Purple Frank Sinatra Godsmack Jethro Tull Jimmy Buffett Poison Rush Scorpions Stevie Ray Vaughan The Who Tiny Tim Tschaikovsky Modest Moussorgsky Louis Armstrong Edvard Grieg and so on.

I'm kind of a music nut. Actually, a bit of a music snob. I listen to a lot of 80's shit. Not like Prince or anything like that, I mean like The Smiths, Depeche Mode, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, New Order...y'know, good shit. I also listen to a lot of EBM/Industrial type stuff, VNV Nation, And One, etc. Yep. :wanders off: I love Siouxsie and Joy Division. Siouxsie Sioux also has the same birthday as me.

In that case if the congregation will please open their books we shall sing Hymn 43 "Our father high in heaven Smile down upon your son Who's busy with his money games His women and his gun - Oh Jesus save me!"

I'm not sure how many CDs I have (I'm on the same music-cataloguing website as Darth_toxic but need to update my collection), but I mostly listen to metal. Black metal, folk metal, symphonic metal, thrash metal, Gothic metal, classic metal, hair metal... if it's metal, I'll listen to it and give it a try, though honestly, industrial is like my least-liked form of metal. I like rock and some pop but honestly not as much ever since I discovered just how broad a genre heavy metal is. I almost bought The Darkness' Permission to Land a few days ago, but passed it up in favor of Robocop's 20th Anniversary Steelbook 2-DVD set. When I went back to the same store today, the used CD by The Darkness that I had had my eye on was gone. *sighs* I also like orchestral music, and I have a lot of soundtracks in my CD collection. My favorite soundtrack in my collection, bar none, and one of my favorite CDs ever, is Eric Serra's score for The Fifth Element. Seriously, seriously awesome music. Some stuff I have my eye on getting (hopefully) is Richard Band's extremely limited edition score for Troll (have NO idea if I will ever be able to get that, though) and the score for Rock 'n' Roll Nightmare (seriously, listening to "The Magic Voice" is addictive as hell, and the 10-minute version with Thor driving across Canada is like some sort of bad-movie crack. Oh, and I also want some of Thor's albums now, too. I love cheese metal as much as the next person. Some of my favorite bands, in no particular order, just for the record: Dimmu Borgir Sunn 0))) Children of Bodom Cradle of Filth Type O Negative Finntroll Moonsorrow Manegarm Asmegin Black Sabbath Led Zeppelin Opera IX
