This makes me sick. I mean.... seriously, SERIOUSLY sick. And what's sad, is that if they ARE arrested, every other fundy Christian will scream "PERSECUTION" even though those idiots clearly and KNOWINGLY broke the law. Why the hell can't they just leave gays and lesbians alone already? I have yet to see a single legitimate, NON BIBLE INSPIRED reason as to why people should hate homosexuals. Fundies make me sick.

*sigh*...the sad thing is my friends and family will be talking about how courageous and what a great idea this is if/when they hear about it...I'm sure they will, since they watch Fox news exclusively...and I'll be repeatedly bashing my head against a wall... my same friend who attacked the hate crimes legislation is now going after health care reform... time for new friends....

Disgusting.
And, while I'll grant it's been a long time since I've looked into it, iirc, even though hate speech is not illegal, speech that incites violence is. Which means that if these psychos get someone riled up enough to actually hurt or kill some poor gay or lesbian person, they could be charged for that. What do you want to bet that even if that happens, fundies with still scream that they're being oppressed?

That being said, I say let them have their little bitchfest. I'm willing to bet counterprotestors will outnumber them a minimum of 5-to-1.

I'm going to be laughing if they get arrested, personally. Especially now that I consider how Faux Noise is going to cover it.

I say let them do it. Hell, put all the news networks on it, and let them spew their shit live for the world to see.
The nation deserves to see how deranged the far right has become.

Has Phelps been arrested since the bill was signed? No? Then I think that everyone else is fine...except for the sad state of affairs where you have to compare against Phelps to see if you're fine...

If they commit a crime and are punished for it, that's Hitler-like persecution. If they don't get arrested, it's because the government doesn't want to look like persecutors, but really they are. If they get counter-protested or get their asses kicked, the people involved were undercover government spies persecuting them. They are the only group that hate crime legislation should ever apply to, because any crime against them is persecution. Even if the perp didn't know anything about them. Satan obviously marked them for persecution. You might think abortion has nothing to do with this, but you're wrong. They can't stop thinking about abortion. And persecution, which abortion is. What better way to fight persecution than attacking the group of people least likely to have abortions. This entire post is persecution because it is sarcastic. All sarcasm comes from Satan. Also, abortions.

To be honest, I want to wear that and see how many people assault me that day.

So, are these pastors aware that this law only applies if you actually commit a crime against a gay person, like assault? They can still hate gay people all they want, they can tell anyone they please how horrible gay people are, they just can't commit crimes against them because they are gay.
