Fair point, Rookie.
I would contend that my overly sweeping statement is somewhat mitigated by the way the broader range of fundies see everything as a function solely of their faith, but, as I say, you're entirely correct to pull me on that.

Then why are so many believers, you know, MISERABLE? Obviously their belief in God isn't making them happy.... So many people turn to religion after a major crisis, such as the death of a loved one. They are welcomed by others and given a false feeling of warmth. Also, they're miserable because of teh persakyooshun.

Ugh. That's quite revolting. Makes me think back to my dad. He tried to tell his father (my grandpa) that life was so miserable for him because he never knew the love of Jesus. Of course, this was on my grandpa's deathbed, and my grandpa was pretty damn angry when dad turned on a televangelist and then hid the remote. I dunno, I always thought my grandpa had a crappy life because of that whole Holocaust thing. Losing the entirety of one's family and being shoved in a Soviet gulag and then hearing that your parents were just shot on sight would kinda put a damper on my life. Oh, and that he was Jewish. That is truly disgusting and horrific.

One big problem that a lot of Christians seem to have, and that I try to avoid, is that they insist they know what others think and feel better than those people themselves. It just seems arogant to me. Actually, it's abusive. Seriously. It falls under "controlling behavior".

Considering the things that went on in death camps, hearing your parents were shot on sight upon arrival might be comforting.
