On the Documentary channel, there's a show called "God's Cartoonist." The description reads "The crusade of Jack T. Chick & his religious tracts."
I'm watching it.
Oh God, Kent Hovind's in this, too.

"God's cartoonist?" Well, God forgot to give his representative some talent. I may have mentioned this before, but if someone tried to convert me with the help of a Chick tract, I'd see it as an insult to my intelligence.

Jedi Knight: Agreed. The man is a talentless hack. But a lot of gullible sorts figure "Hey, they are based on our faith. It has to be good!" Quality before ideology, people.

It's actually a really good documentary. It has interviews with people on both sides of the Jack fence, which is cool.

Odd. I thought Jack Chick refused to give interviews because his inflated sense of self-importance has convinced him that putting himself in the spotlight would be dangerous.

Jack Chick himself isn't in. And I wouldn't say it has interviews on "both sides." There's 1 person who obviously doesn't like Chick & I think the editors subtly added their own personal "fuck yous" at the end. Otherwise, it's all people orgasming over how awesome Jack Chick is or commenting on why they feel the works are valuable, because they're creepy comic collecting people.
But yes, it was a surprisingly good documentary.
Jack's fans seriously make me LOL. "One of Jack Chick's experts is in jail for rape? But he was such a good Christian...It MUST be the Illuminati!"

Odd. I thought Jack Chick refused to give interviews because his inflated sense of self-importance has convinced him that putting himself in the spotlight would be dangerous. He honestly thinks that people are out to kill him. In fact, when his con artist of a "source" Alberto Rivera died of cancer a few years ago, Chick started spreading the word that the man had actually been poisoned.

When I read the title, I thought that for some reason he had left his evil crazy hermit habits behind or something. Disappointing.
Evil crazy hermits are not to be confused with regular crazy hermits.

Yeah, it said on the end credits that a lot of Jack Chick fans thought the guy was poisoned.

He honestly thinks that people are out to kill him. The thing is that those people just want to smack him around for a couple hours. Silly Chick.

I don't know about actually killing him, but I wouldn't mind giving him a ringing slap across the face. Or sucker punching him.

I wish I was better at drawing so I could make anti-Chick tracts.
