Hi, I'm new. I like the idea of FSTDT and I like the comments that the fundie messages get. However, I'm aware that there seems to be a special language of communication here which seems new to me. I don't know what "\n\n" means, and I don't understand why people say "stupid" as a noun instead of "stupidity", or "fail" instead of "failure". Perhaps someone can enlighten me?

\n is a formatting thing, it's meant to start a new line iirc.
It's just sometimes it's not read properly when the text gets parsed

"FAIL" is a meme of sorts. Other than that, I do not know how to explain it.

"FAIL" is a meme of sorts. Other than that, I do not know how to explain it. Kinda basic really. Reactions to good things have been shortened to "win" while bad or stupid things have been shortened to "fail." Really good or bad/stupid things are expressed with "Epic win" and "Epic fail" respectively. There's also "FTW" ("For the win") and "FTL" ("For the lose"). For example...."Irrational reasoning FTL." This indicates that a person "failed" and why they failed. I should teach a class on this ;D

I am severely disappointed with how this thread has nothing to do with the apparently (from thread titles) similar one in the Creative Outlets section. I will address this by generally hinting that it probably should...
I'm not necessarily saying that this thread is made of fail, mind you, I'm just saying that win was not found.
By the way, 404th post.
