A few weeks ago, I ended up with a pretty nasty abscess on my backside. It was infected and made me feel really sick (flulike) until it had drained thoroughly. I spent three weeks in bed. In part, because I couldn't sit down and in part because I was feeling all fluey.
Well, it went away.
Now, I'd been feeling run down the last couple of days, but I thought it was stress. My Super whined to the management about the conditions of my bathroom, which were largely due to the leak he was supposed to be there to fix. So I had to clean up everything, and then reclean it right before he showed up.
Then I spent last night throwing up. Felt like crap. I only showered about two hours ago because I kept going back to bed on and off all day, and I discovered another bump that looks to be another abscess. So I need to run to the Doctor's tomorrow. I'm hoping I'm cutting this off before it gets too serious, because I can't take another run of time in bed.
To add to all that, I get really screwed up dreams when I'm sick. So last night, I get to sleep after vomiting, and I get treated to my subconscious torturing me about my ex, which I won't go into. It just didn't help on so many levels.
Sorry for venting, but after crashing for four hours earlier, I find myself unable to sleep right now, and feeling the need to just blindly vent.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled...*snoooooooore*

Okay, multiple abscesses does not sound like the flu to me. If you are seriously ill see a doctor! I went to the doctor for the last one, and ended up with my butt lanced and a cyst removed. The infection was bad enough when I caught it it took me a long time to recover. It was the infection that gave me flu-like symptoms, and I know that. Unfortunately, short of going to the ER, I have to wait another half hour just to call my doctor's office to request an appointment. I know I need to see a doctor, but it doesn't make me feel any better in the meanwhile.

I'm sorry. That sounds absolutely miserable. Do you think there is any connection between your unsanitary work bathroom and what's happening to your body? I'd at least mention it to the doctor. Which you should go to asap! {{{{schizophonic}}}}

Thankfully, now that the leak's been fixed, it won't be a sewer anymore. So if it was the bathroom conditions, hopefully it'll go away now. Good point in asking that, though, I didn't even really think about it.

My wife had a lot of the same symptoms a few months ago, including the abscesses in the backside area. I don't think she got quite as sick as you're describing, but it ended up she had Mersa. Once the doctor's figured that out, they gave her the proper medication and she's been pretty much over it now for a while now.
Not saying that's what you have, but you might want to have the doctors look into it.

Well, at least this one's superficial. No surgery. That's a plus.
