There is something very very wrong with our science teaching.

There was something on the main page along those lines ages ago. I can't remember who wrote it but you might be right.

It'd be cute if it was a 7 year old boy and that was an episode of Bill Nye. But alas.

It wouldn't be quite so funny if there wasn't such a huge attempt to big up the whole thing - the way the camera tilts 90 degrees for no obvious reason, the utterly meaningless phrase "now it's happening now"* and so on.
*I mean, of course it's happening now...it's now.

I think this was posted awhile back on the old forums, but this video never, ever gets old.

Is it bad that I heard the sirens in the background in that video, and my first thought is, "Hey, you know, I bet she called emergency services on her water sprinklers!"

There is something very very wrong with our science teaching. You got that right. What a pile of stupid that woman is. Apparently doesn't have a clue as to what causes the "rainbow effect" in a mist of water. Hell, I did that for fun when I was a kid with a nozzle on the end of a water hose and knew what caused it way back then.

Old clip is old. Seriously though, when I saw it, it enduced a mighty headdesk. Even if one didn't know, all it takes is a google search to figure out. Wikipedia would be the first stop, really.
Why, oh why, do people have to jump to such ridiculous conclusions? >.< It boggles the mind...

I may have been too young to understand what it was, but I thought it was cool.
