linkAccording to the article, Obama literally told Rep. Peter DeFazio that he's keeping score in regards to which Congressional Democrats are voting against his budget. The article also goes on to allege that Obama staffers are in touch with groups such as MoveOn.org and are trying to mobilize them to get political pressure in place against Democrats who jump ship instead of following the party line. This is allegedly a response on Obama's part to growing national disapproval of his budget; Gallup says that he now only has 39% approval owing to fears that the increase to the national deficit will outweigh any positive effects from the spending. If true, it may well indicate that Obama is desperate enough to resort to "politics as usual." As the article notes, though, if Obama does indeed do so, he might just risk alienating the same people who he'll need at his back to get some of his other proposals through Congress.

The greatest Machiavellian politician in American history accusing Obama of playing politics?
Great, Obama's a politician. Fucking shocker.

Karl Rove in a Murdoch owned paper, why that'll be fair and balanced. The entire basis for this seems to be an alleged leaked quote to AP, and Rove saying Obama is schooled in the ways of Chicago politics because his wife cited a book at the DNC last year. The report mentions that the budget has a 39% approval rating NOT Obama himself, as if 39% of any electorate is able to properly understand a whole national budget, and gosh people think the government spends too much money, a standard position if ever there was.
Pretty much sour grapes disguised as journalism.

Oh no, the president is going to keep track of those who vote against his budget, and trying to use outside sources to gain support for it, next thing you know he might start trying to get other needed legislation passed. Gasp. Oh, and Sky, Obama's approval rating is still at 60%. Gallup has him at 61%. www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president_obama_job_approval-1044.htmlSo here is a question, please no dodging, were did you get your number?

So here is a question, please no dodging, were did you get your number? [1] 39% refers to the approval rating for the budget, which has been tracked separately by a few different outlets for about a week or so now. [2] It's in the article itself.

Rove, being the misleading ass he is, fails to mention that that poll also finds that only 27% have a negative view of Obama's buget, and 33% said they don't know enough. Plus further brakedown of the numbers show that more independant voters think he is doing a good job with the buget. www.gallup.com/poll/117139/Amid-Budget-Battle-Americans-Views-Hold-Steady.aspxSo it seems that there is no massive out cry agaisnt the perposed buget. Sky, you should know that Rove is a liar and a cheat, will say anything to make any type of liberal view look bad.
