Is it particles that behave like waves or something? I seem to have a vague memory of that phrase in my head from somewhere. Most likely school, so most likely it's wrong as 90% of the stuff they teach you in high school science is actually incorrect. No, it's just both. Fucked up things happen at 3x10 8 m/s. Both? BOTH? HOW CAN IT BE BOTH AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! MY BRAINS!!!! Also, it's been a looooong time since I had to know what 3x10 8 is...is that (3x10) to the power of 8 or is it (10 to the power of 8) x 3? seriously, 10 years of never having to do something is a sure fire way of forgetting it, no matter how simple it is. Like I got a B in GCSE French - today I'd be fucking lucky to string together a single sentence in French.

Believe that's 3x10 to the power of 8, put another way 3x1,000,000,000. But it's been 11 years since I've had physics, so I could be remembering incorrectly.

300,000,000 or 3x 100,000,000 to be accurate.

I see the mistake you made. Fucking, as in "fucking magnets" is used as a verb, not an adjective. Ironbite, it takes a circle magnet and a good handful of petroleum jelly. Removal of any genital piercings beforehand is recommended.

Unless you're into that. I'm not here to judge.

This is the Stupid Questions thread, right? Answer me this, oh most wise FSTDT'ers: Just who is this "Snooky" person I've been hearing about lately? Is she some kind of pop singer? I'm hearing the name all over the place, but nowhere do I learn why she's famous

This video, although it's a parody, pretty much tells you anything you need to know about her.

Gah! Why are people like that famous? This video, although it's a parody, pretty much tells you anything more than you need to know about her. Fixed. Ok, back to physics/astronomy/clever people stuff.

I got a spectroscopy one. In an IR absorbance spectrum, would N=O bonds be observed in the region from around 1650 wavenumbers to around 1850 wavenumbers? I'm pretty sure it is but my notes don't seem to mention N=O bonds anywhere...

A few months back, I bought a 30 gallon trash can. I figured 30-32 gallon trash bags would fit perfectly in said 30 gal can. Why is it that the only bags that fit are 39 gallon?

What does the term "that's triflin'" actually mean?
