A few months back, I bought a 30 gallon trash can. I figured 30-32 gallon trash bags would fit perfectly in said 30 gal can. Why is it that the only bags that fit are 39 gallon? Either because the necks of the smaller bags are too small, or because you are using some to fold over the edge (so they don't fall in), which reduces the usable capacity. What does the term "that's triflin'" actually mean? I would assume it means "that's trifling", that is, it is only a trifle, or thing of no importance.

It first meant lazy, but can also mean disgusting/gross/etc.

I've never heard it used in that sense, but then it is probably one of those weird differences between the variants of English. (I've only ever heard it used by people with West Country accents and gardening programme presenters.)

I'm talking about the term's usage in urban American slang, specifically, as that's where I've typically encountered it.
