What happens here is that a woman promises a man she is a virgin and marries him. But it appears she is not, which is the reason why this man “hates” her. So what kind of sexual diseases might she carry? She might even be pregnant!

Apparently "tokens of virginity" means once a woman has sex with her husband she'll bleed because her hymen will break. And IIRC, that's a horrible way of telling virginity.

I'm pretty sure they're all illegal, but the commercially based ones are tolerated because they are very short term and encouraged by the owners of the property they are on. Occupy Wallstreet was camped out in Zuccotti Park for two months (with plans to stay longer), and was not supported by the owners of the property. Somewhat different circumstances.
