Troughton, because unlike Pertwee his version of the Doctor outwitted his enemies most of the time, instead of of fighting with them or endless chases. Baker takes a close second, just for the insanity and humor he brought to the Doctor.

The next Doctor is Matt Smith.

I've been watching since Christopher Ecclestone and David Tennant, and I like Tennant more. I hope the new guy is good. I was so sad when heard Tennant was leaving.

Tennant. I loved Eccleston, though. I'm more or less new to the Doctor, however. I own some of the prior material, but I'm mostly familiar with the new guys. Wish Tennant would stay on for a while longer, but since it's not happening, I'm hoping the new guy is good.

Problem is I've only watched First and Ninth Doctor episodes. Hartnell's an asshole though, that's why I like him.

I've only seen the revived series, though I'm working on acquiring the originals.
Of the two, Tennant, definitely. Eccleson was more of a badass, but Tennant brings more of a quirky personality to the role that I love.

I voted for Tom Baker, cause of the Doctors I've seen I thought he was the best.
Wish I could watch more of it, and I need to see about watching the new series somehow too.

Dr. Kevorkian obviously. He is the only one you can count on to permanently cure you of not only your current ailment but any future ones as well.

Different doctors for different times. I liked Tom Baker's political and philosophical bent which was very eighties, Eccleston's more human rendition , and Tennant brought a bit of sexiness to the role. It's all good.

Bit heretical, but I'm actually a fan of the Sylvester McCoy years, mainly because he seemed to be taking the show in a darker more mysterious direction towards the end - hinting that there was more to the Doctor than meets the eye. Paul McGann's been rather good in the audio adventures with India Fischer and Sheridan Smith too.
Regarding Matt Smith, I've only seen him in BBC police drama Moses Jones a few weeks ago, and not terribly encourage to be honest, seemed to lack any real presence, Shaun Parkes on the other hand would be great if that was the direction they wanted to go.

Troughton, and then Baker (I've been watching this a long time!)

Ecclestone has this way of saying the word "fantastic" that kind of ... gets me. So even though I think Tennant made a better doctor, I just had to vote for him.
(pardon any spelling mistakes... i'm falling asleep)

(pardon any spelling mistakes... i'm falling asleep) I loved how dynamic Eccleston's Doctor was. I liked him enough I wasn't sure I was going to like Tennant replacing him. I still would have liked to have seen another season with him.
