Every time this guy posts, there's a huge mess of PGP headers and footers. Is there any way to get rid of this shit? (Example below.)

It would appear to be a pretty harmless affectation, why let it bother you?
I'll admit that the usual netiquette is not to sign postings or e-mails unless there is some content that people will want to check and verify as untampered with. Since he isn't transferring any files there is no functional reason for a hash signature. Maybe he just thinks it looks all "cool and high-tech like", maybe he is bored, maybe his dad is an old BBS warrior who taught him to do it that way, who knows? (Extremely unlikely but he could be posting from a network that requires signatures. Although that would be a first for me seeing one and you'd think they would be more up to date than PGP in that case.)
Still how is it hurting anyone? Read the message and ignore the B.S. or just skip over his postings entirely. I don't see why it should offend you if he chooses to make his posts look different than most peoples.

It's a waste of space, and it gives me a headache. Point is, it needs to stop.

It's annoying as fuck.
I don't come across it that often though.

I'll have to hunt it down, I fail to see the point in doing it on a website, this was a newsgroup thing right?

Whoops my bad. It would seem the practice of signing everything has become a bad habit, out of paranoia. It would seem one comment still has a signature, I hope this helps. www.fstdt.net/QuoteComment.aspx?QID=61484Considering that actively contributing members take offense to the signatures, I will not sign my comments or posts. By the way, a signature consisting of text is primarily used to a posted message or email. Detached signatures or embedded signatures are used for files. In truth, the signatures do verify properly. I am assuming that the messy aspect is due to uneven lines of text, a chiastic of signing with a DH/DSS private key as compared to that of an RSA private key. Well, that is enough techno babble. It would seem that ausador is a resident of the United States, henceforth, is able to access PGP 9.x. A lot of specifications have changed since version 6.x. Yes I searched fstdt.com via google, specifically “BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE site:fstdt.com” “PGP site:fstdt.com” Unfortunately, PGP can no longer be considered ‘freeware’. Now it’s more trialware. Expensive trialware at that. Yet, still open source.

Signatures aren't necessarily bad in the forums, but on the mainpage they can indeed be annoying. We appreciate your understanding in this.

While I haven't implemented anything to display the fact I do this, I track if a logged in member posted the comment or not, and once I do start to display this it will be in such a way that you cannot be impersonated by some random user. If that is you concern.
