6 or 7 of them were in my neighborhood yesterday. They had come to Middletown, MD, to protest at the funerals for a family of five lost to murder-suicide. They weren't there long before the police chased them away. Then they stopped at Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, MD, to protest because the school is named after Walt Whitman, who might have been gay. The teachers took the opportunity to teach the students about Whitman in their literature and history classes and diversity in the social study classes. When school ended at about 2:10 p.m., hundreds of students came out to gawk at the weirdos and shout them down. The Phelps's didn't stick around long after that.

They were that close to me and I didn't know it? I have wanted to see them for years!

I didn't know about it until I read it in today's Washington Post. If I had known in advance, I'd have gone down to the high school to help heckle them, not that the kids really needed any help; they did a fine job.

Hell, I would have been content to just watch the students mock them. Sounds like the teachers did a good job with the situation.

They were in Buckhannon, WV in the aftermath of the Sago Mine Accident, and they didn't exactly mind their manners there either. I think the Phelps are finding themselves being made ever more irrelevant. As they should be.

Apperently they were prosting whatever the hell offended them at the moment. After that, they headed over to Fairfax High School to protest Rebel Pride day. Ironbite-cause apperently school spirit means children are being rebellious.

They could have a ball in Research Triangle, NC, between the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and the Duke Blue Devils. And then they can go to to Phoenix, AZ, to visit the Arizona State Sun Devils.

I'm glad they've never shown up around my town, I'd be in jail for doing what natural selection would have done years ago if the cops would stop getting involved

Slight update, the protest has been rescheduled to my Dead Day. Means, provided its not raining, I AM SO THERE.
*grabs the gayest thing he has*
