God dammit... Why are you people still acting rationally towards me? Why can't you just hate me like everyone else does? I never expected someone to levy that particular complaint toward us. People would like you more if you'd actually listen to what they have to say. Also, manners. Those would help. Best case scenario, you learn something new. We weren't looking for a confession. We were looking to get you to consider that those older and wiser than you may have life experiences that give them reason to believe what they do. |

It's not uncommon to have differentiated communities on the same site. Some people may only go in certain threads, & if there's a section that doesn't require you to sign up, well it's obvious that will turn out different.
And you know, I happen to think that the commenters get a bad rap. Sure, I'm going to strangle the next asshat who says, "Not Fundie" because the quote doesn't mention Jesus, but by & large the comments are just zingers & long-winded explanations. I see very little of these vitrolic hate machines you allude to. And the ones I do see tend to be trolls, like that creepy guy who kept copy/pasting misogynistic porno stories.

I would just like to take a moment to thank our lurker friends at IJBM, for being such good sports with us, and for following the thread along with us. Not to mention, trying to reach out to Chagen along with us. It's nice to know that we aren't the only ones.
I would give hugs, but it's a little hard to reach all the way over there...
