Question mark because I don't know if I believe it. I came across the original link from a friend, which goes to Hub Pages, which I've never heard of before. In essence, the site states that: . From Hub Pages, there is a link to the Univserty of Alberta, where the research was done. However, the link to the University of Alberta page is outdated and redirects a couple times, with the U of A page being last updated as of 2007. As much as I'd very much like for this to be true, I've got a hard time buying it when the links are outdated and the research appears to have gone nowhere/stopped for almost four years. Secondary opinions on this would be greatly appreciated.

There have been clinical trials since then and it has shown some promise. linkBut it's not a cure for cancer as cancer isn't one disease, it's a plethora of them, this one appears to be a detriment for colon cancer.

Considering how nasty colon cancer can be, hey, this is a good thing. And this research could lead to halting other cancers, as well. You just never know.

Okay. Probably shouldn't be posting when I've been awake for nearly 24 hours straight.
It could, I dunno, if they figure out how cancer accelerates, they might be able to figure out how to slow, stop, or even reverse it. I think.
I'm probably wrong, though.

Just saw that article on a friends facebook and was gonna post it here for info/opinions. The hub article made it seem like it was a be all/end all to all cancer. I'm just glad it shows promise in some cancers.

The hub article made it seem like it was a be all/end all to all cancer. And that is what annoys me, the chemical's effectiveness so far is already promising and newsworthy, why add in the overblown hype? Especially since it then makes people distrustful of science when it doesn't cure cancer.
