Why not use zombies as a way to test if our emergency systems can handle emergencies? It's kind of silly, but that clearly gives more awareness of the procedures and emergency systems should be able to handle the issues that would occur with zombies.

I just find it kinda sad that they felt they had to use that particular example to gain everyone's attention. And the funny thing is, my brothe in law is actually TERRIFIED of zombies and fully believes that they will rise up one day, and when he sees just the headline of the article, he's going to run for the hills and hole up in a bomb shelter or something. >.<

It looks like they're using the "zombie apocalypse" as a way to get people prepared for real emergencies. Rather unorthodox, but just crazy enough to work.

I think when a zombie apocolypse does happen, the only thing we'll need to know is how to dance the Thriller.

Seems like something no one needs to worry about, if I've understood previous arguments correctly.

There is actually an organization with this justification. Their philosophy is, "If you're prepared for the dead to rise from their graves and devour the flesh of the living, you're prepared for ANYTHING."

The CDC posts information on preparing for a natural disaster, no one notices or cares.
The CDC post information on preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse, their servers get shut down because of to much traffic.
.....I say it is a winning move.

Cracked did have an article that said why a zombie apocalypse is possible.
Edmonton might be on to something.

Zombies are pretty attention grabbing. In order to get more interesting/distanced from reality, you could maybe go with zombie cyborg raptors that use incapacitated living bodies to incubate their young, though it probably won't grab a normal person's attention as much as standard human zombie hordes do.
[Edited to fix typo.]

Cracked did have an article that said why a zombie apocalypse is possible. Was this the list of real things that can actually zombify you, or did I imagine that?
