I recently won an iPod Touch (no really) and so I've been trying to pick up things I've missed. Of course I've got a QR code reader, twitter, all of that. I also found an interesting Wiccan app that has info about rituals and stuff. It was free so I figured why not?
What apps are essential for you? A lot of apps are cross-platform (as in, if you have it on your iPhone I can probably get it on my iPod) so feel free to share those too.
I personally love my games I can play in the car or while I'm sitting here and can't focus on my tv and the computer.

I've recently acquired an iPhone 4, as my not-even-remotely financially challenged father decided to buy me one for pretty much no reason whatsoever. He's an awesome fellow like that. In any case:
As games go, I'd recommend Trainyard, Bridge Basher (in fact, this one is so damn addictive it isn't funny), Dismount, Harbour Master and Zombie Trailer Park. As for other apps, I have a graphing and statistics calculator, but if you're not a science student you probably have little use for them. iBooks, however, is a must for me. Pretty much anything that's public domain (and most of the stuff worth reading is) is free, so you'd be an idiot not to take advantage.

Yeah, I added Kindle and Nook on my Touch. I also have that iBooks app. But I like how the Nook does it. I also added the WebMD app. Just in case. oh and netflix for watching movies and I don't want my laptop on my lap or to focus on my TV.
If anyone is curious about the Wiccan app it's called: Liber Umbrarum et Lux. It's by no means an amazing app. I basically have it for the Wheel.
And because I'm a Star Wars geek I downloaded the lightsaber app. >.>

The Times app is more like "free". You can only read the latest stories, and only so many before they want you to pay. They crippled it when they went behind the paywall.
