www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43343808/ns/politics-decision_2012/Newt's top campaign aides jumped ship en masse, like rats off a sinking ship. Even though Newt SAYS he will continue his campaign, I doubt he will recover. We'll have to see how this one turns out. My question is: What made them flee?

Now, that is something I didn't expect. I know they're citing creative differences, but that's not something that would make an entire cabinet go AWOL. Whoa.

$10 says in a few hours we're going to find out Mr Gingrich had his way with a rent boy.

My question is: What made them flee? Maybe they finally came to their senses?

Gingrich is realizing a harsh reality about how campaigns are different from marriages. In campaigns, people leave YOU.

As I understand the reporting on The Rachel Maddow Show, there was a disagreement about funding. Like how he tries to show himself as a fiscal conservative who is frugal with money, but spent $500,000 at a jewelry store and took a 2-week luxury cruise to the Greek islands.

So... the guy takes a 2 week Mediteranean cruise in the middle of his Presidential bid... I seem to recal he was one of the people criticising Obama for taking a holiday on day 257 or so of the Gulf oil spill disaster (do I remember correctly?). At least he's consistant in his double standards being so brutally blatant.

Newt was also one of the assholes who cried for Clinton's head over a blowjob, but had the audacity to begin his campaign by begging people to not judge him on his own indiscretions, but on his ability to lead. The above may be slightly biased and heavily editorialised, but you get the point. Newt is not afraid to condemn someone for his own acts. And expect others to not condemn him to boot. Because it's only a problem when the other guy does it.

There was a hilarious bit in The Onion about this, in the American Voices. "It's just awful. I heard these people, whom Newt adored and trusted with all his heart, walked out on him for Tim Pawlenty, a younger, sexier candidate. I can't think of anything that Newt Gingrich did in his life to deserve such a punishment like this."

The funny thing is, when the President goes on vacation, they're basically still on the job, just from a more exotic, relaxing location. I sincerely doubt Newt Gringrich did much work while on his cruise.

Aides including my home state of Georgia's own former governor Sonny Perdue! Way I heard it they literally locked him out of his Atlanta campaign headquarters, although that particular bit might just be a rumor. Makes me proud to live in Georgia for once in my life.

And still no news on why they decided to bail?
