does this mean we can have frickin' laser sharks? There is an Evangelion fanfic (Thousand Shinji) who has nuclear fusion bacterias. Incidentially, that was the point where I gave up on trying to take the fic seriously and just went with it. Topic: First, I think it's awesome, and acc to that article human cells were used as a base. But ecstasy has been dimmed by the revelation that the cells still need two external mirrors. It's a big step, but not the Booyah! Now onwards to biomirrors...

I find this awesome. We now have proof of concept that we can make a living tissue lasing source without killing it. We already know there's reflective tissue, like cat's eyes, and bioluminescence, so those angles just need to be increased in efficiency and combined in. I look forward to seeing what applications this gets used for.

One step closer to laser eyes... According to an advert on daytime TV in the UK some people already do. The company coffers, and I quote, "laser vision correction." I've been tempted to give them a call and say I need laser vision correction because no matter how hard I try I just can't get my laser vision to work. Seriously, they way the voiceover says that phrase makes it sound like that's what they mean.
