I still want it to go to SCOTUS. It's a gamble, but if SCOTUS rules our way on the merits, then it's game over. We win. Gay marriage is legal throughout the United States of America. We have to get rid of Scalia and Thomas first, and unfortunately, even if they were to step down, the likelihood of that happening while a Democrat is in the White House is slim. |

Well, we're likely to have Obama through 2016, although at that point things become more unclear. Ed, a professor of political science who blogs over at Gin and Tacos, suggests that the Republican field for that election looks quite a bit stronger than the Democratic field. But who knows? Nobody in 2002 could have guessed at Obama's meteoric rise. |
