Good Bacchus, at the beginning of this year I moved to this wingnuts' district. I went from having representatives who actually took time (or paid assistants) to read my emails and respond in a thoughtful manner to getting, in exchange for whatever I had written to Bachmann about, a form letter that reads, in sum "OMG JEEEBUS AND TEH BEBIEZ".
I hate Minnesota....

Don't hate all of Minnesota for her asshatery. Some things here are exceptionally good, like full protection for people to express their gender identity, MNCare, and technological ingenuity. Sadly there are the bad aspects, like raving lunatics who somehow get elected. It really is a weird mix of liberal and conservative politics.

Oh Lord. She keeps saying "taking our country back." Think about that phrase for a moment. "Take our country back." ... And "them" apparently have no right to political voice. Who are these people who have "taken" the country from its "rightful owners?" Liberals? Democrats? Socialists? Immigrants? Blacks? Atheists? There is a dangerous attitude to the statement "take back the country" that there are those who should never be allowed a political voice, those who simply have no "right" to the country in which they live, work, and hold citizenship. ... . They want nothing less than to force all those who do not march in lock-step with them to fade into the back row of the bus, the balcony of the theater, the "special" waiting room off the "special" wing. Just to check if I understand you well: does this guy describe the way you feel? dneiwert.blogspot.com/2006/12/eliminationism-in-america-i.html

Yeah, but the independents will probably choose the sane option. I can't say I know much about American politics, but what little I've heard, aren't most independents libertarians? Meaning they would vote for Ron Paul over Bachmann, and assuming she won, her over Stalin Obama. No independents are people who are not associated with any political party. In the United States, we have an extraordinarily strong two-party system. Most Americans would not vote for a third party candidate. In fact, most American independents are moderates-- people who are not as liberal as the Democratic Party yet not as conservative as the Republican Party. These are the voters who determine the outcome of virtually every Presidential Election, as roughly the same percentage of voters will vote for a Republican no matter who the nominee is as will vote for a Democrat regardless of the nominee.

As much as I hate Bachmann, I actually want her to run for president, and Rick Perry.

The Daily Beast had an interesting article on her a few days ago. So, being asked questions=being held against your will?! Why does anybody even take this slimeball seriously? She's nuttier than a Planters factory.

So, he's a moderate democrat? Probably a conservative Democrat. Anyone left of "batshit" is a far left terrorist nutjob.

Get your ass to The Cities. Glenn Beck thinks my representative is a terrorist, and that's good enough for me. So, he's a moderate democrat? From what I see he's actually a liberal Dem. Here is his wiki page. Dude was against the Iraq War before it was cool. He also sponsored a bill to impeach Cheney. Oh, and he is highly critical of DOMA and said stuff as shocking as to suggest that it hasn't defended a single marriage. ETA: Oh, right, he's also a scary darkie.
