I personally agree with the religious exemptions. While yes it skirts close to violating separation of church and state, I personally don't think churches should be able to be sued for declining to wed two gay people. Then again, most gay people wouldn't go to those churches anyway. I will second this.

That was the religious protections bill. The actual bill just passed with 33 votes in favor.

Thirding this. If they won't marry gays, then I doubt any gay people who go there will want to be married there. Personally, I think it's kind of stupid and paranoid. Churches can already decline to marry people if they don't feel like it.
