Most Offensive Political Ad

That's what David Weigel of Slate.com calls it, and I must say it certainly ranks up on my list of the most offensive political ads I've ever seen--ranking only behind Glenn Miller's ads. I guess it was created by a conservative filmmaker named Ladd Ehlinger, Jr. and it's a minute and a half of offensive black stereotypes, pictures of 1920s mobsters and Communist protesters. It's basically the Willie Horton ad times one million.

Actually, here's Ehlinger's response to critics of the ad:

"The DCCC and Janice Hahn demand that the video come down and that I apologize! My answer: No! I didn't kill anyone. I didn't even enable anyone to kill anyone. And... oh yeah: suck it! The ad's funny. It makes me laugh. So if, for some reason, it's pulled by YouTube, a thousand will be launched in its place all over Algorez' Internetz. Because you're only drawing more attention to your past of supporting criminals, Janice, and forcing policemen out of their jobs for doing their duty. So there you go. Claim victimhood all you like, but how many people were victimized by your coddling? There's a reason Mayor Villaraigosa took the program away from you. He's a Democrat. So are you. Think about it."

The thing this guy doesn't realize is that if you read a lot of the comments, many people find it funny for the opposite reason he had hoped. A lot of people are laughing at it because it's so over the top and stupid that he might as well of taken that fake AK and shot himself in the foot with it. I mean seriously, even the first ten seconds look like a 5th grader slapped it together with PowerPoint.

And the musical number is terrible and lacks a decent rhythm. I'm still surprised anyone with any dignity whatsoever would agree to appear in an ad like that though.

And the words are neon red and in Chiller font. And the photoshopping is terrible, especially the stripper face-pasting.
