So, they announced the four 2009 Turner Prize nominees - the prize for contemporary art in the UK - and there's a lot of the more traditional art forms listed - paintings, drawings, sculpture, that sort of thing: www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/2009/apr/28/turner-prize-shortlistAs cool as Roger Hiorns' work looks, in particular the blue crystal cavern pictured in the article, my pick of the bunch would have to be Richard Wright and his wall paintings. Any other picks at this stage or views on the prize in general, or the judges? This years panel seems well balanced but I'm not entirely sure what Mariella Frostrup brings to the table.
