I thought Quebec Gold was more closely related to Salvia.

^^ No, it's just very potent. Even if he did smoke pot, how can they know if it inspired his stories without, y'know, asking him? That's just crazy. There's so much anthropologists could be studying that's way more important than whether Hamlet was inspired by pot. Hamlet? Try A Midsummer Night's Dream.More like shrooms for that one. 1. this is ridiculous 2. while we're at it let's dig up the bodies of Bram Stoker, Mary Shelly, the brothers Grimm, and Dan Curtis... ;D Can we dig up Stephanie Meyer too? We all know what her stories are inspired by: Being a sexually repressed housewife and living in Utah (redundant, I know). "BC Hydro", you mean?

Yeah, BC bud is okay, but I definitely prefer Purple Kush which is the most potent form of the plant. If I recall correctly, it can contain between 30-40 percent THC.
I think BC Bud has like 10-15 percent. I couldn't tell you the THC content for Quebec Gold, though. I haven't come across it yet.
Shane: Salvia is very different from marijuanna. Believe me. For one thing, Salvia is a full blown halucinogenic that's commonly used in mexico and some of the southern US states to induce visions in Shamans. For another, the high only lasts like five minutes and then it's gone. At the price of the stuff, it's so NOT worth the money.
I tried it once and the first time I was sitting with a friend in his car. The car seat I was sitting on turned into a fucking tongue and I thought the car was trying to SWALLOW me... O.o
Yeah, stay away from that shit... physically harmless but some of the things you see might give you nightmares

I know that pot and salvia are different. It's just the phrase Quebec Gold is familiar to me and I thought it was in the list of 'other terms for' on a page about salvia. Haha. XD

^^ Never trust the slang names people post on the internet. They'll always include names that almost no one uses, much as Canadian slang lists include the word "hoser". For instance, most places will list "X" as the number one slang term for ecstasy, which it might be in some places, but vast majority of people I've met in Calgary call it "E", leading to the "E-tard" epithet for those who use it regularly.
I stopped smoking pot when I started having a negative reaction to it (anxiety; was never a big smoker to begin with), but I actually always found that people made BC weed out to be better than it was. Not that it was bad -- it certainly was one of the better ones you could get in Calgary at the time, especially compared to the crappy "burnout" bud that was going around in the early 2000s (might still be) -- but some people made it out to be the Saffron of marijuana.
Apparently a lot of dealers/growers will try to fake Purple Kush by basically freezer burning their crappy weed, making it purple-ish on the outside.
I would never, ever smoke Salvia (not that I'm terribly inclined to take anything else). Every single person I've met who has tried it hated it. There's probably someone out there who likes it, but most seem to have bad experiences. I have a friend who smoked it, and spent the next 15 minutes thinking she was a support beam in the deck she was on, and if she moved, it would collapse and kill all of her friends. Another didn't smoke enough to break through, but she told me that she spent the entire time freaking out because she couldn't stop herself from laughing, despite feeling like she was dying -- losing control over your own body is scary. The best review I've heard from anyone is, "It was shitty, but not as bad as other people made it out to be".

Holy fuckmuffins! I've never heard of reactions like that... although there are two different forms of Salvia... they have one that's low in whatever it is that gives you the hallucinations so you don't get too big of a mindfuck your first time trying it, and then they have a more concentrated version of it.
My mom tried a little of it and she started giggling and pointing at the window. When she came down, she said she saw Bugs Bunny waving at her with Tweety sitting between his ears on his head... O.o
Edit: Um... if someone could please tell me how to properly break up quotes, I'd appreciate it... My initial "I'll just give it a shot" attempt obviously didn't work out very well. >.<

I remember a story someone told on the old boards (I think their name started with an "A") from when they were in high school and one person in their class was a real jackass always trying to score dope off anyone. When he tried asking them (I believe it was a she) they directed him to a batch where some people from a previous year tried growing some, but failed so instead all they got was some dirty old rag weed which after he smoked some left him with a beet red face and a powerful headache.
I don't remember all the details, so if the person who originally told it was present that would be greatly appreciated. Since it's their story and all.

I swear it made me see how everything is interconnected, and I could. not. stop. smiling. for two weeks. Good trip, but damn that shit's expensive. (And I'm pretty sure I managed to pull something while I was laughing for fifteen minutes straight.)

Just wondering because I'm seriously wondering if something else was put into that stuff because I've never heard of reactions to it lasting for such a LONG time... O.O Like I said, from my experience the high's there and gone in like 5-10 minutes... Won't be responding until sometime tomorrow... gotta sleep. School tomorrow. Nighty night

O.o Weird. I've never heard of reactions like the one you described, just a bunch of crazy stuff. You're probably right about different potencies/strains, as well as the amount a person smokes. Can you buy salvia LEGALLY down in the states like up here in Canada? Just wondering because I'm seriously wondering if something else was put into that stuff because I've never heard of reactions to it lasting for such a LONG time... O.O Like I said, from my experience the high's there and gone in like 5-10 minutes.. I've heard that it lasts around 15 minutes max. Maybe it was an after-effect? I'm not an expert, so I can't say for sure.

I did figure that the one who told the story is female and name started with an A.
There aren't many choices out there.
