My mom is fifty and isn't menopausal yet. She's married to my dad and is completely monogamous. She still has the ability to have kids, but doesn't want any more because she already has three, and the kid would have super old parents. If she wasn't on the Pill, or if, for some reason, the Pill failed, she should have the right to an abortion if that's what she wants. Also, reproductive rights are better for all women in the long run. Nope. Still loss. What woman doesn't want to be pregnant? I don't. My tummy is fat enough all ready. |

Is the law to be upheld at all times as the final definition of what is right? Sometimes, it's the law that's wrong, as I personally believe it is regarding young women and men whose only failure is not having survived enough trips around our native star to meet someone else's entirely arbitrary standard of what constitutes maturity. Lest anyone get any ideas to the contrary, my beliefs to this effect don't extend only to matters of sexual intercourse. Yes, I'm a pervert, but that's hardly all I am. This thread has been derailed enough for one day. If anyone feels like I deserve a verbal carpet-bombing for daring to treat teenagers as small adults instead of big infants (the latter being exactly what this whole "17 < 18" bullshit amounts to), there's an entire sub-forum and a PM delivery system for that. Either one of them will suffice. |
