I'll just stick with "The Case Against Adolescence" by Robert Epstein. Explains why forcing teenagers to be children has more negative affects than positive. I'd stickwith what I find to be convenient, too.

I think there's a bit of people talking past each other going on here. Treating teenagers like big children is detrimental to their social development and there is no magical age where they suddenly become adults. But, to try and give them adult rights and responsibilities is also a poor idea and there are good reasons for not legally treating them like adults. Teenagers are in this kind of weird category developmentally. They are mature enough to be sexual, but they still have a lot of mental development left (hell, the brain continues to mature into the 20s). Teenagers do not have the part of the brain developed that lets them think long term, this matures in the 20s, so treating them the same as an adult is a poor idea and will lead to very bad decisions.
Also, there seems to be a lack of understanding of the difference between the age of consent and age of majority. That is a difference that actually does get recognized legally (age of consent commonly being 16 and age of majority being 18). Teenagers are also given extra rights and responsibilities in that they can operate a vehicle before they are a legal adult. They can also work. Even legally, a teenager is not treated the same as a child of 8 or 10 or 5.
Personally, from a purely developmental perspective, I could understand increasing the age of majority. Except for one issue; 18 is when most people graduate from high school and enter the workforce and/or college. Both of these environments assume you're an adult and to increase the age of majority to something more developmentally sound would put teenagers in even more of a limbo position.

** Although it's debatable whether or not your average 18-year-old is either This is really the, er, thrust of my point. There is certainly an emotional and intellectual difference between an 18-year-old and a 16-year-old, but the difference is comparatively trivial overall; 24 or 25 is when people mostly hit their intellectual majority. So I think that it's tough to argue setting the age of pr0nsent to 18 and the age of consent to 16. Maybe make the porn age 25, so that I can see my red-hot barely legal bitches fresh out of graduate school. Although I too think that 16 is probably about right for the age of consent.

But how can they pay for grad school without porn? Unless they can still strip.

Can I kind of go and hide in a corner right now because yeah I'm uncomfortable but part of me thinks this isn't such a big deal because I have my own thread and stuff and maybe people are overreacting but maybe I'm just internalizing stuff and it actually is a big deal I don't know but I feel really awkward and stuff so can I sort of step out of this thread until it gets back to abortion? Want to come over to mine and play 40k?

Teens have atrocious impulse control. Try to remember high school. And if that brings flashbacks and nightmares, I apologize.

And my point was that girls with master's and/or doctoral degrees are red hot.

I propose that we embark on an in-depth study of various types of porn to confirm your hypothesis. Y'know, for science.
