It would be nice if the law was more specific about the circumstances in which a drunk passenger can be arrested, though. Granted, officer discretion is always going to play a role, at least if you want the law to be enforceable.

Why is it that my state only makes it into the news when something stupid happens? Because the Colts suck?

+6 Anyways, using a (responsible) DD is always always a good idea. And, personally, I have always thought the driver should be the one responsible for the car and the actions taken place therein. I have driven more than one rowdy drunk home. It has been a pain in the ass and a very trying experience. And I have kicked a few out. But usually that's all it takes.

Why is it that my state only makes it into the news when something stupid happens? Because the Colts suck? Strong words for somebody from Georgia. Colts vs Falcons all time: Indianapolis Colts lead series 13-1-0 Points Scored: Indianapolis Colts 401, Atlanta Falcons 199 Most wins by an NFL franchise in a decade: Indianapolis Colts 2000-2009: 115 wins The Falcons had 75 wins in the same time period. Before last season (in which the Colts were one injury away from starting cheerleaders at wide receiver, defensive back, and running back), the last time the Falcons finished with a better record than the Colts was in 2001, when Indianapolis finished fifth in the AFC Central-- a division which no longer exists. Also, the Colts currently have two Super Bowl wins, compared to Atlanta's none. Seriously, if you're going to rip on Indy's sports teams, be realistic... the Pacers suck.

It's kinda funny that we've got people nerdraging over sports though, when you consider the "Texas rape sport" thread and the reason a rapist is still on the team is very likely because sports is srs bizniss.

Sports is serious business. Rather, it's one side of a multifaceted serious industry. That industry (entertainment) covers such far and wide aspects of society. Sonny Bono, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jesse Ventura, Ronald fucking Reagan. Entertainers all of them before becoming politicians. Bono (the U2 one, not Sonny) got the freaking Nobel Peace Prize. Charlie Sheen winning, Britney Spears views on infants in car seats, Lindsy Lohan's benders, baseball players using steroids, ages of Chinese Olympic gymnasts, OJ Simpson's love life, Ms. Fonda's political views, Ozzy Osbourne's lyrics and suicides, Ben Roethlisberger's pickup lines. I just pulled nine things out of my ass. But these nine things dominated the news cycles for days, weeks, or longer. Yeah, entertainment, sports included, is serious business.

I think we can all agree though, that nothing is more serious than quidditch.

Sports is serious business. Srsly needed a "bro" at the end of that, bro. But yeah, I already know it's serious business, bro. I guess rape and stuff is just the hidden cost "we" agree to pay.

Excuse me while I laugh for a second here: BAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHH! It's cute you think I give a rat's ass about the Georgia teams. I don't. Point blank. You wanna know who I really go for? I'll let you in on a little secret. The San Francisco 49ers and Jacksonville Jaguars for professional, Ohio State University for college. Hell, I even go for the Baltimore Ravens at times. Tip: Just because someone lives some place does NOT mean they like the teams or give a damn about them. In fact, I despise the Falcons. So, before you rip on someone for ripping on another team... at least realize they may not in fact go for the teams that are in their home state. PS: I was jesting about the Colts. They have a very pretty stadium and I was glad to visit when I was in marching band. ETA: the old one. I'm told they built a brand new one a couple blocks away. Or something.
