California to put LGBT history on the curriculum. To whit: "California is poised to become the first state in America to make the teaching of positive contributions made by gay and lesbian people to US history and society compulsory in public schools."In other news, experts move the predicted date of the forthcoming California-Texas War up six weeks.

Nice to have a bit of refreshing news. Hopefully it won't be too many decades before other states incorporate it.

Turing was the man. The man who loved men. A man-loving the man.

While I appreciate the sentiment with this, I really have to ask why? Why should I care if Alan Turning was gay? I personally dont care if he had sexual relations with his pet goat, what should be taught is his contributions to society. There is really no need to mention anyone's sexuality in history. The only issue I would have is if people like Alan Turning were specifically removed from history curriculum because he was gay.
