If you read the comments they somehow interpret this as determinging whether or not to execute this criminal.

The execution is delayed. It will happen. No debate, no opposition.

If they actually read this gist of the article it makes sense. However unpopular with an angry mob it is the way of laws and treaties.

Well with the way things are going he's going to get at least an extra five years now.
