Admitting a mistake is nothing but a sign of weakness in the american Government. Someone just lost the next election. The DoJ is under Obama, do you think that Obama, the liberal candidate, is going to be hurt for saying DOMA is wrong? Gay marriage has been a pretty damaging deal in the past. It hurt the Dems under Clinton, which prompted DOMA in the first place. It helped cost Kerrythe election because a bunch of people who hated Bush's policies, the wars, end our financial situation were still skeeved by " two guys kissing." Why wouldn't it hurt now?

Actually, my remark was a joke based on the idea that candidates who own up to mistakes seem to keep kicked aside in favor of those who'd rather point fingers.

Why wouldn't it hurt now? 1) Because it gets the base stirred up. 2) For the first time in history more than half the population supports gay marriage. 3) He's already a foreign commie socialist who hates America.

It gets more of the right stirred up than the left. See the 2004 election. And being a foreign commie socialist who hates America is bad, but you know what's worse? Being a foreign commie socialist who hates America and lurrrrrves teh cawk.

Don't worry, we all know the right only cares about fiscal issues. Go ahead, ask them.

Harley's right. It's government's job to identify problems, and even study them in some instances, but not to fix them.

Don't worry, we all know the right only cares about fiscal issues. Go ahead, ask them. Well, sodomy is serious business. No, seriously. The anal lube industry alone is a major cash cow. Or, rather, the lack of. You see, if gays are legitimised, they might not be ashamed to buy booty lube, and then conservative stock in crisco, vaseline, and hand soap would be worthless. Won't someone pleeeeeease think of the economy?
